Treat it as if...

Treat it as if the kids are the only 'real' beings in that world, and everything that surrounds them is imagined.

Dick around with the designs as much as possible. If they ended up looking dopey; they end up looking dopey.

ALA that same idea...

Anka's Blastoise for Battle Royale

Anka's latest. Damn fine amount of reimagining on this image.

A wild Charizard appeared!

Yerp, thought i'd try up a pokemon and see how well he'd fit into a screenshot from Tekkon.

Siick

Rad Sechrist. Sexy pallette.

Thumbs

Mewtwo's hand "Catching" ash, misty, brock and all the other pokemon. Working on a pile type composition.

Playing with fisheye style. I'd like if the bg was filled with complex pokemon etc. Similar to what TekkonKinkreet does with it's architecture ie:

Artist Model - Patrick Awa

Just found this. Another direction perhaps? Nice and smooth shades, flowy 'wavy' form.

Artist Model - Dani aka Bird

Another Satellitesoda artist: Dani. Thought i'd put him up here because i really enjoy the way he pushes his shapes and plays with scale. Also has mad flow.

Artist Model - Kris Anka

SatelliteSoda artist Kris Anka's Daily Draw February theme this year was Pokemon. This was pretty much the original inspiration for my movie choice, love how he simplified them down to their essence and introduced his own shapes.

Artist Model - Sachin Teng

In the theme of videogames... Noise. Pixels.

8 bit elements

Thinking about incorporating some 8 bit elements, seeing as it's a cartoon based upon a videogame.

Tekkon screens

Super-detailed backgrounds, super-simple characters. Such a great juxtaposition.

Direction #2 - Kaiju

Another direction I'm thinking of taking is that of an oldschool japanese kaiju poster. Supercheesy, dramatic and shouty. Not sure how the stylised characters would work out painted in this style though. Might have to create realistic versions of Ash, Misty and Brock.
